"Reasonable Gun Control": Checklist to Tyranny, Slavery, and Genocide

Stage One
1. Create propaganda machine vilifying firearms and firearm possession.
2. Elect "messiah" figures to high offices on the promise of "saving the world."
3. Enact oppressively high taxes on income, food, fuel, property, and other necessities.
4. Confiscate retirement funds.
5. Negotiate with terrorists.
6. Allow countries hostile to America to control domestic agendas.
7. Enact "fairness doctrine" laws to regulate criticism of the government or its policies.
8. Enact "campaign finance reform" laws regulating political speech to suppress opposing viewpoints.
9. Strictly control the use of communication frequencies and require digital use to enable embedded tracking and oversight of the transmissions.
10. Require GPS tracking chips in all mobile telephones.
11. Enable government surveillance without a warrant or probable cause.
12. Provide shelter, jobs, food, and medical care to as many people as possible and strictly regulate as many aspects of peoples' private lives as possible for as many generations as possible.

Stage Two
13. Equip law enforcement with military weapons, tactics, and equipment.
14. Create special law enforcement divisions with broad federal jurisdiction and accountable only to the President.
15. Enact "gun free school zone" laws.
16. Ban lead ammunition claiming ludicrous and unproven environmental and wildlife preservation concerns.
17. Ban steel core ammunition on the grounds it pierces body armor.
18. Ban hollow-point ammunition on the grounds it does exactly as it was designed to do -- cause fatal damage to internal organs.
19. Ban all pistol rounds that can be used in a submachine gun style firearm.
20. Enact oppressively high taxes on all firearms and ammunition.
21. Enact bans on military style firearm equipment such as folding or adjustable stocks, high capacity magazines, and bayonets.
22. Enact bans on semiautomatic firearms.
23. Enact strict and overly complicated regulations on the sale of firearms and ammunition.
24. Harass firearm sellers and manufacturers with frequent inspections, lawsuits, and bogus criminal prosecutions for insignificant technical violations of the overly strict and complicated regulations.
25. Enact strict and complicated firearms and ammunition storage laws.
26. Register gun owners and their firearms.
27. Require random and frequent inspections of civilians firearm and ammunition storage.
28. Harass firearm owners with random safety inspections and bogus criminal prosecutions.
29. Ban concealed carry of firearms.
30. Require group storage of civilian owned firearms at the police station or other government controlled facility.
31. Ban civilian ownership of certain firearms and ammunition.
32. Enact a firearm "exchange" program requiring civilians to surrender their firearms and ammunition to the government in exchange for a reasonable market value.
33. Enact a "tattletale" program to provide monetary incentives for people who turn in gun owners violating any laws at all and criminally punish people who conceal such information.
34. Vigorously enforce all of the above laws and regulations under the guise of public safety and the public good.
35. Control the media to propagate the myths of the effectiveness of gun control and to vilify civilian firearm ownership.
36. Imprison or kill all who violate the above "reasonable restrictions."

Stage 3
37. Suspend Habeas Corpus.
38. Imprison or kill any and all opposition.
39. Take a day off.
40. Have fun playing with your new tyranny.
